Question by Jim_Polydactyl Group: how do you use a vacuum guage on a diesel engine to test for valve and head gasket issues?
I have an older Masey Furguson 135 diesel with a Perkins diesel. The motor rus good except that under higher loads, it runs rough. I am checking the fuel system now and injector settings. Is there a way to use a vacuum guage to test for motor condition?

You can use the vacuum gage if your checking for compression in your cylinder.
